This is one of the best histories written on the practitioners of Western Esoteric Occultism at the turn of the century. Richardson does and admirable job of introducing the Seymour/Hartley diaries and includes some never before published G.D. meditations.

Authors: Jeanne Robert Foster, Noel Riedinger-Johnson, and Alfred Kazin
Average review score:

Great read aloud -poetry/stories of 19th C. Adirondacks
Have you ever driven down a back road and noticed one of those old shifting-to-the-side-run-down houses? Have you wondered about the folks whose footfalls used to creak the floors, whose faces used to be framed inside the now windowless panes? Jeanne Robert Foster's stories and poems, while written about the people, poverty, and places of the remote Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, give voice to themes which are universal and timeless. Jeanne's own story began in 1879 in the Great North Woods. She became a model for Charles Dana Gibson and Harrison Fisher, an art agent for John Quinn who was the promoter of the famous Armory Show of 1913, a writer/editor for Albert Shaw, as well an advocate for housing for the poor and elderly. She was a woman who touched many lives including that of the editor of ADIRONDACK PORTRAITS: A Piece of Time, Noel Reidinger Johnson whose labor of love made this volume possible. For more information about Foster, watch for future publication of her biography by Janice Huddleston Londraville.

Well written series
This series starts off with two groups of aliens fighting each other. There is the Weave, a republic fighting off the amalagation, which wishes to absorb all intellegent life. The weave is loosing. Desperate for new alies, the weave sends off a exploration ship. They find... humans. Research quickly reveals humans to be the most efficient and warlike fighting beings ever encountered. So good are we at war, that with just a little assistance, 'modern' humans can beat off a intersteller invasion... Needless to say, the weave is desperate for willing humans for the fighting, but do we want these savages in the weave? This first book focuses on the duality of humanity. We say peace loving, but we have this incredible drive for violence.

Alien 3
Published in Audio Download by audible.com ()
Average review score:

Excellent book
Alan Dean Foster does it again..with his third novelization of an Alien film. Alien 3 is an ok movie, but Foster's tie-in is much better due to the fact that it contains lots more dialogue from the original script(and some improvised obviously) that was cut from the final edit of the movie. I also like this book better than the movie because it features extra and alternate scenes that were in the original Alien 3 script, but deleted before the film was released. Such scenes mainly deal more with prisoner Golic and his obsession with the Alien, an alternare birth of the warrior Alien which I like better, and more character-developing dialogue among Dillon and the other prisoners.
